The Shih Tzu : An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet
The Shih Tzu : An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy PetBeautiful work by Jo Ann White, a renowned figure in the Shih Tzu world.   She breeds and shows Shih Tzu and has written many articles for the AKC Gazette as well as being president of the American Shih Tzu Club.

The book itself is a jewel because of the wonderful and varied pictures of Shih Tzu dogs in all ages and states (short hair, long hair, pre-bath, etc.)

Jo Ann White really understands the Shih Tzu breed and their way of thought and she has been able to arrange the information accordingly.

The book is thorough, including sections on grooming, training, puppyhood, nutrition, health and lots of resources (books, videos, club information, etc). This is a Shih Tzu bible in itself, and Jo Ann White writes with a style that is both fluid and easy to understand.

The book includes a comprehensive description of the Shih Tzu Dog breed standard according to the AKC and one of my favorite pictures, a Shih Tzu that has been completely shaved down so you can see the correct build and structure of the dog.
